Top Tips for a Purr-fect Tiger Latte
It's one of our favourite topics in the Madame Tiger office, how to nail the Tiger Latte. So we asked the team, what are their top tips?
Start with cold Tiger Nut milk
It's a bit practical (boring?), but always use our Barista Tiger nut milk straight from the fridge, it helps create an even texture from the start.

Less is more
Tiger Nut Milk naturally has more body than other milks, so you need less air. We're aiming for a glossy, silky smooth milk without a foamy layer on top.

Create a whirlpool when steaming
There is nothing more satisfying than when you get that milk all moving in one direction (very whirlpool-in-the-pool energy). Start with the steam wand just under the surface to get the milk spinning, then introduce a small amount of air. You’re listening for soft hisses (someone once said to me, it's like a kiss to the milk), not loud screeching.

Keep everything moving
Swirl your espresso before pouring (especially if it’s been sitting), and keep your milk moving too, this keeps everything smooth and well combined.

Pour with confidence and embrace the art
Start pouring closer to the cup than you think and begin your latte art when the cup is about ¾ full. And if it doesn’t look perfect? Even better. We like to call that “abstract tiger art." Give it a go at home and tag us in your creations (masterpieces and abstracts welcome).
