Strawberry Iced Matcha Magic

Our friends at The Sorrento Social Club have created the most epic Strawberry Iced Matcha, and here’s our recipe for you to try at home:

Serves: 1

Timing: 20mins, plus cooling time

Ingredients:

Strawberry Syrup:

  • 250g punnet of strawberries, chopped

Note: This makes more syrup than you need, so freeze for next time you’re after a tasty drink!

Milk Layer:

  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 cup of Tiger Nut Milk

Matcha Layer:

  • 1 tsp of organic ceremonial matcha powder
  • 1 tsp of sugar 
  • ¼ cup of hot water

Method:

  1. Over a low heat, add the chopped strawberries and simmer until softened. You may need to add a little water if it's sticking. 
  2. Use a stick blender to puree the syrup to your preferred consistency. Allow to cool.
  3. Sift matcha into a bowl, then add the sugar and hot water, whisk well until frothy. Allow to cool.  
  4. In your glass add the first layer of strawberry syrup. Top with the ice & Tiger Nut Milk. Finally pour over your matcha layer and watch the magic happen!
